P1700 code doesn't exist

Gave the wrong code in a previous thread. 2.2 petrol that has had a new VX cam sensor is still dropping into limp mode and showing only P1700 from the engine scan, nowt from the gearbox. Spanner light on!

Doesn't seem to show in this list :

What did you read the codes with? I'm guessing you need to use a reader that can interrogate the gearbox ECU :-\

That code means the gearbox is upset with something, and asking the engine not to give it too much power.

Given the way these things work, the ABS unit can also cause this code.

Read the engine, gearbox and ABS units, and post up those codes. You may need a code code reader, generic OBDII ones won't see gearbox and ABS ecu

Read it with my autel maxiscan which does engine and box separately. Should be able to scan it with a certain naff reader once I work out how to let windows 7 install the driver  >:(

Sumat is not communicating somewhere. Checked the large electrical plugs behind the battery are fully home?
