cold in winter/ hot in summer
« on: 16 January 2010, 19:14:45 »

Hi

I have come across a small problem with my heating/coolling system on my 1999 V6
At present i do get some heat which is good but it is not really hot when the temp is raised. also the air which comes out in the rear vents is really cold.

In the summer it is the other way around. Some cold air comes out but not much and then the air in the back is hot. It is like the air from out side is coming straight through to the back of the car.

Have had the air con checked and it is fully gased.

Any thoughts. Slightly annoying as windows stay steamed up in winter, but we don't stay cool in the summer.
Thanks

David

Hi

I have read a lot of other posts and many others seem to clean the heater matrix.

Would this help the poor air con?
Thanks

Check the servo for the recirc., sounds like it's stuck on outside air. Check under the pollen filter (passenger side of the skuttle) for a puddle and clean out if neccessary, that could be causing the steaming up problem.

Hi

Don't think the HBV has been looked at ever so hopefully it isn't on the wrong way.

I might be showing my inexperience with omega's (cars in general) but which servo do you mean and where is it?

Looked in haynes but not much help.

Thanks
