there is however a really loud sound of air hissing under the black cover thing in the middle of the engine,
is this normal?
No.

If you have been able to check that all the rubber hoses are properly attached and that the IAC is pushed in to the side of the plenum then I would next check that the intake plenum is still bolted securely to the engine.

If you get a 3 foot length of garden hose you can use it as a stethescope. Hold one end near (not against) your ear  :o and you can poke the other end in to places to listen for the leak.

i sounds like the air is leaking underneath the plenum.
could it be the black piece wich has broken somewhere?
it is possible to take the black section of the air intake plenum without removing the Plenum, if not how hard is it take this off.
I will have to remove this tomorrow now

Hi
Been thinking about where this air leak could be all night, and have decided to take the plenum off today when i get home from work and check all the pipes one by one.

Also as one of the codes say that the MAF is low, could i change this for a MAF of a 2.0ltr as i have a couple sitting in the shed?
Would this help
just a idea
