When I start up after being left for a while, I get a whistling noise from the nearside light area, this goes afetr about 1 minute...any ideas please :)

It will be your secondary air injection pump.

they do this after a while,

it is to help the cats warm up faster. but not really of any use.

just unplug it, it is right at the front, bottom corner.
