Lighting for the rear
« on: 27 January 2010, 11:22:52 »

Can anyone tell me if my elite is likley to have the wiring looms in behind the trim somewhere for the lights in the rear.
I have clipped the blanks out hoping to see the conectors behind, but there are not, so i have taken the top panel of but also nothing, does anyone know if the wiring is going to be along the floor panel or the door pillar, i did take the top section of(seat belt holder) but could not see anything.
I do have the contact switches in the doors so i am pressuming that they must go to the loom somewhere.
Thanks in advance.

runs through the rear door pillar to supply light to the door card courtesy light. Check the plastic sill under the drivers door.

Whats the problem? Lights not working or looking to add more?

I think the problem is, it's not an Elite, it's an ex police special so has no rear reading lights.

Hi Josh, we did have this conversation a few weeks ago, you did say that some had the wiring left in, as i have the contact switch in the doors i was hoping that the wiring for the lights would be hiding somewhere, lol

Have faint memory the loom comes into the car right at the 'front' of the sill. Behind the drivers kick pannel, thats where the hillpers boot mod is done.

Remove trim over door sill, near where the seat belt trim meets floor should be a white connector. If you have 4 wires coming from there you will have the above doorlight loom behind the seat belt trim. (Like I`ve got here) :D :D
Colours should be red, brown, grey and grey/white.

The trim starts at the driver`s kick panel. Some of the torx screws are visible and if you unclip the small bit of trim with the VX logo on (one @ front, one @ back) you will see the other torx screws
