Front n/s wing problems
« on: 03 February 2010, 16:15:59 »

Wife managed to smash the front end of car - any way having problems finding n/s front wing.
As mine is a facelift (I think) I don't think any wing from a pre-facelift will fit - or will it?
Saw a wing on ebay from a 2001 car which I thought would fit but the guy said it wouldn't as different fixings - is he talking rubbish or is he correct.
What wing from donor car will fit then?

Other problem is that the bracket which is welded to the chasis and which the wing bolts onto is pretty badly bashed up - I will have to try and straighten it out, or would I be better off getting a mobile welder to attach a new one (thats if you can buy them?)

Any advice would be welcome :y

All wings the same across the range. Obvious difference being bump strip, but that`s easily rectified

Would this one fit then?

Go for it, RobG is right- the other clown is waffling and probably has had bum info himself. Obviously he talks from the opposite body end that we do.The wings are the same, it is only the bump strip that is different and even then the mountings are the same.
As for the bracket, try to straighten it yourself, they ain't that strong and as they can't be seen it don't matter if they are unsightly cos the wing hides them. Worst case would be to get some metal plate and make one or cut one of a scrapper.
