Cam belt
« on: 05 February 2010, 21:21:17 »

On an omega 1995 with a 2.0 x20xe engine, if the cam belt rollers give up and cam belt jumps some teeth will it on this engine result in damaged pistons and valves?

I would say a 99% likelihood of damage. If it slipped far enough to stop the engine from that speed... :'(

Would need inspection to confirm, yes they do jump seen some lovely damage by valves, but also seen some get away with it!

Ok, he may have to buy a new kit but i think it will be a waste of money in that case as car just stopped and wouldn't start again.
Many thanks for that!!  :y
