Cam cover gaskets
« on: 06 February 2010, 22:02:10 »

I'm going to do my leaking cam cover gasket as soon as we get some better weather. I've read all about getting genuine ones rather than pattern ones but I just found these on ebay and wondered what your thoughts were?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180390754142&ru=http://shop.ebay.co.uk:80/%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dp4712.m38.l1313%26_nkw%3D180390754142%26_sacat%3DSee-All-Categories%26_fvi%3D1&_rdc=1#ht_1339wt_939

It's this bit in the description that caught my eye.

The gaskets supplied are not an Aftermarket gasket but made by Elring Klinger, a supplier to Vauxhall.

Save yourself loads of headaches and go to the dealers mate.
I have heard a few people say that not everything from your link was genuine ;)

Indeed they are a supplier to Vx (at least headgaskets)....but as far as we can tell, they dont supply the cam cover gaskets!
