Alarm - again!!
« on: 09 February 2010, 12:36:38 »

Had a problem initially with the alarm going off intermittently which I put down to duff battereies in the power sounder.  I replaced them and at the time it transpired that the separate alarm horn was duff so I replaced that as well.

Then I started to get 4 beeps on switch off which I believe is an indication of low voltage in the power sounder so I just whipped it off.

All's been fine for a month or so but now occasionally the horn alarm sounds for no good reason and the hazards flash.  I don't really want to spend my life locking it via the back door which I believe locks it without the alarm so any ideas or can I just disable the alarm in toto?

Disconnect bonnet switch, see if it still persists in arming

As I said it's already been whipped out.

I'll give it a try.  I've heard that the bracket can bend but on my 02 car it's pretty substantial thing, or is it the actual plunger switch that is at fault?
