Gear selector lights up like a Christmas tree
« on: 23 February 2010, 22:32:25 »

Dear Omega gurus, I need you.
When I start up my 2.6CDX, 50/50 all the lights on the gear selector come on too.  After 10 seconds or so I then get two orange lights on the dash, engine management + traction control.  It still drives but it's in some weird default mode where you can't feel it change gear - acceleration is very poor and that's bad news at difficult junctions.  Like I say, 50/50.  Some journeys it will be absolutely fine from start to finish.  Local garage (not Vauxhall specialist) is baffled.  I won't use the Vauxhall dealer due to astronomical £1920 repair bill the last time (another story).  Thanks for any wise words.

Gear selector needs a clean. Your lack of acceleration is due to your car setting off & staying in 3rd gear, you can manually change gear though if you need to.
I think there's a guide  somewhere  :-/
