Water pump on a 3.2i V6
« on: 24 February 2010, 18:29:27 »

Any one had any issues with a clanging sound before, and loss of coolant over time?  got nasty rusty stains over the aux wheels and its right by the water pump where the noise seems to be coming from.

couldnt locate a guide to replacement, but going to do the cam belt and water pump in anycase as its a reserved/sold vehicle and dont want it coming back in.

Pop the aux belt off, and see if there's any play in the water pump pulley, see how it spins by hand..

Sounds like collapsed bearings on water pump mate  :(

As James says aux belt off and you should be able to feel play on pump pulley.
