It's not a problem Jaime. The first quiz worked just fine without the web based quiz pages. A bit more work for the Quiz Master but it worked just fine.

If you are happy for us to post the questions up on the forum then everyone can look in.

And, 12 people is about 25% of the regular contributors to the 'General Chat' section, so not a bad turn out on that basis.

 :y :y
But then you can only have 2 or 3 teams, which isn't really a decent quiz  :-/

Mrs TheBoy is compiling some Q's for a Christmas quiz.  I haven't seen the Qs, but she says they are mostly easy, and for all the family.  I think we may run it early tomorrow evening.

Will be up for that  :y
If i dont get a phone call......personal reasons.....not work  :(

I'd be up for another one, got some wrong & some right but it was a good crack & i've got an idea what to do now. I appreciate it's work for those organizing it so maybe just arrange one at a time with a poll beforehand to make sure everyone can make it so as not to waste the organizers time.
If we go one at a time instead of every Saturday it might grow. Hope so. :y

I would join in but I'm tedious and boring.

We wouldn't say that. Don't put yourself down so much Steve. Perhaps when you get a better car you'll feel better about yourself.

We've only had three quizzes, so don't write off the concept yet. Of course, timing is an issue - especially for those of us who need to get kids into bed. However, we need to just keep plugging away for a few more times before taking a view, IMHO.

I reckon it'll pick up in January when all the festivities have died down. And remember what I said about telling newbies. Incidentally, how difficult would it be to send a blanket PM to all members advising them of upcoming quizzes? It seems to me that talk of quizzes only starts in General Chat on Friday night/Saturday morning. If you didn't know the site too well and logged in during the week you'd be forgiven for not knowing about the subject.

Anyway, that's just my twopenneth.

Incidentally, I'm unsure about the Christmas Eve quiz as my six year old wants to go out carol singing with her school friend in te early evening.

All valid points.

However, forgetting the huge effort needed by the quiz setter, there is also significant effort I need to put in to load the questions (not a simple cut and paste alas).  To prevent this weekly effort on my part requires significant development time, and this is only worthwhile if a significant proportion of members want to take part.  The current 0.5% participation is nowhere near enough to warrant the extra work involved.

My own personal goal is, as well as increasing the number of members participating, that those that normally moan at the amount of time we spend on here (ie wives/girlfriends/partners/(older) kids/etc) can also join in some of the fun.

A Poll was put on a few weeks back Guy and still not many played, it is rather annoying for the people who want to play :(
