02 v6 rust at top of rear quarter?
« on: 25 March 2010, 09:24:00 »

Hi really need some help guys, can't find any refrence to this rust issue. At the top of the rear quarters (both sides of car) at the bottom of the c-pillar rust is bubbling through, seems to be coming from under painted plastic trim. Is the trim removable so i can get at rust? Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks in advance Mark :-/

Under the plastic trim, there is a welded seam, are you sure the rear wings have not been changed?  These don't normally rust there.  The plastic trim just pings off.

Thanks for the reply agemo,i was starting to wonder as i have searched the forum and found no posts relating to this issue. When it stops raining i will check for non factory welding/slash rear crash damage. Do the plastic covers need to be removed in a particular manner? And do i need to unscrew the plastic door/window/roof trim which is attached to the door shut?
