When I got my Omega the front mud flaps had been poorly fitted. I have since removed them but the sills and under door areas are suffering without them. I am sure I have seen some contoured flaps that have a positive location against the lower front wing. With the Vauxhall flaps I have the position/location when fitting is a bit vague to say the least. I aren't very impressed with the clips that hold them in place either. Any advice?

just ditch them, got them on the Elite estate, i find i am constantly filling them down when giving it the italian tune up, which it needs after mother tunnie drives it for a month

Had some front ones fitted by dealer when I bought mine 12 years ago, but the the mounting bolts continually fouled the tyres under certain weight/speed/ cornering/braking conditions (225x55x16), so took them off and had a refund. I would be interested if anyone has fitted any without problems :-/

Thanks for your response. I have to say the clearance between the tyre and wheel arch is very tight.  It's as if Vauxhall never intended for mud flaps to be fitted.

Used to have them on my CDX.
Whenever I turned right and was slowing down it rubbed against the tyres causing wear.
I've still got them on the back but as has been suggested already, don't bother, they don't seem to be compatible with the reality of actually being fitted.

A possible solution would be to copy Saab who have the rally type on some of their older cars.
However, as these are fixed (somehow!) to the underneath of the car, don't know if actually poss on the Omega.

Generally front ones are more trouble than they're worth.

Do Facelift ones (Premoulded) work? :-?

OK, front mudflaps on a preface lift need trimming on the inner edge to prevent fouling, approx from the bottom of the sill at 45 degree angle to the inner edge to prevent rubbing whilst cornering.

The moulded type on facelift models should give no clearance problems at all. The only small issue can be on some speed ramps, the hard rubber ones found in private car parks that are bolted to the ground.

Maybe if you are having issues under braking then they are not fitted properly, or maybe the lower suspension bushes are worn causing the wheel to move back under load.

I bought some Vx ones for our previous facelift 2.0CD, fitted em myself (impressive for me!!) and they were fine.....

Only problem I noticed was that on certain inclines and when loaded they would scrape the road........

Paid £40 odd i think
