ABS/TC lights ......
« on: 10 April 2010, 21:51:44 »

Driving home yesterday and these lights came on, and the speedo went off, for about five minutes. Same thing happened today. I know this is a sign that the ECU is starting to fail, but is it possible that it may simply be a sensor? Can these be checked, cleaned or replaced? Or would that be a waste of time, money and effort, and should I just resign myself to the inevitable?
Cheers.

Sensors can be cleaned, mine were grotty before, I cleaned them but still needed a new ecu. The second time it happend the wire had split on a sensor, I had to get the loom from another car and tape them together, that worked  :y Could be a sensor broken if you're lucky  :y

From my own experience, the TC/ABS lights and Speedo failed randomly.... became more and more regular, and now seldom work.

No harm in giving the ABS sensors a clean, but I'd be inclined to seek a replacement ECU.  :'(

Lucky? Me? Can't see it! Maybe try and find the sensors and have a clean anyway. Only thing is that it has only been temporary failure, so can't decide if that is good or bad.  :-/

My ECU was an intermittant fault until it gave in alltogether, my sensor, they were (lights) on all the time and the speedo never worked until i fixed it.
