Air Bag Light On
« on: 12 April 2010, 20:26:07 »

Hi Guys, well after following the guide for removing and re-fitting seats I have still got the damn airbag lights on both my pre and facelift meegas >:( I enquired at my local Vauxhall and it would cost £70 per car  to put it on the tech 2 !! Even though I explained why it had come on they said they would have to check for faults before re-setting the light. Now,I think thats rather a lot of brass and I be-grudge paying it to be honest..I have seen this for sale on e-bay( no 140395847277) and the seller said it should re-set the airbag light..Have you guys used one of these? Do they work or will I be wasting more money :question
Thanks Angie x

Airbag lights needs a tech 2 or "My Naff Code Reader" I believe .. certainly an ELM327 won't do it ..nor will the maxscan I have.

EDIT .. a "proper" "My Naff Code Reader"m is well over £600 .. and a Tech2 over 3 grand .. so how his 30 quid box is "better than a tech 2" I have no idea !!!

The "original" has been renamed vaux-com now .. and is around £600

Software frequently not included as

a) its appallingly bad
b) the manufacturer is fed up of these illegal clones

Mines similar to Andy B's - running off a rs232 (com) port.  Came with software (krap - wouldn't connect) - try the latest "freebie" download off the "My Naff Code Reader" website http://www.vezerdiagnosztika.hu/index_demo.html - will do most resets :y
