Hi welcome to the forum.

Is this happening on a race track?

does it feel like it`s holding back ? If so my old 2.5 diesel was like that for months till i found a small vac pipe was trapped behind the power steering pump reservoir it might not be the same prob but it cabbaged my head for months only found it by pure accident one day. I know that 100 is illegal but bear in mind at the time i was using the car as a taxi lol  ;D .I have a similar problem on my 3.2 ex plod but it wont go past 150  :y

Not sure I can think of 1 answer, but maybe be one.
You're trying to drive too fast to be legal on UK roads? :y

unchipped tractors are good for around 110mph, chipped around 125mph.

Does it feel like a rev limit, or speed related?

Chipping should make no difference at all to top end speed.  My unchipped '94 auto would reach around 115mph and my current manual around 125mph, with or without the chip.

Edit: All above speeds tests were carried out on closed/private roads.  ::)
