My coolant light is coming on in the display,the level is fine,i have tried freeing up the float sensor in the tank,it seems to put the light off for a while but then appears again,any way of fixing this without buying a new tank??

Not really.  :( You could always short out the plug from underneath, that'd keep the MID/display happy.  :y
