smoke coming from oil filler cap

hi all,

ive noticed that when i take off the dipstick and oil filler cap there seems to be a lot of smoke coming from it, never had this problem with previous omegas, the oil levels are are fine.

any help much appreciated :-/

took this car as part exchange, the previous owner has reciepts for a engine exchange from vauxhall in 2009 so im thinking the breathers are ok?

That was last year, I.E. at least 5 months ago. I clean my breather at every service, they could be partially blocked again and if left will blow the excess pressure out through the cam cover gaskets.

Smoke from the dipstick tube & oil filler cap nearly always mean excess crankcase pressure, so points to blocked breather tubes  :(
 As Welung666 says, if you leave it too long you will end up with blown camcover seals and a big headache! On the plus side, cleaning the breathers is aquick & simple job  :y
