I realise this may not be the right section, but it may help some OOFers. Seen there on ebay:-

Just over £50 the pair inc p&p, and are described as OE quality, cert to prove etc. Is this a scam or are they any good? I have new ones on so no use to me,but worth asking questions about I thought.

Yes the advert implies they are like OE, not they are. And the Vx badge sort of kids you to thinking they are OE.
He's had too many negs/neutrals recently, and I don't like sellers that keep there items sold as "private" Why? :-/

hi im new here but couldnt help noticing your message i bought a pair of wishbones from a guy on ebay and they worked out at 70 for the pair and that included overnight delivery and they have been on the vehicle for a while with no problems to report the guy i traded with is in huddersfeild but dont deal with this guy as i had a bad experience with him

I fitted a pair I bought off eBay 2 years ago for about £50 delivered IIRCC and they're still OK. I will probably be changing them this year and taking another trip to WIM but they're still OK at the moment

Unfortunately I can't remember where they came from or what make they were

At the time I couldn,t fit them myself (bike accident)
so got our local mechanic to fit them, he was very dubious when I told him I got them off ebay but was happy when I showed him them, and I,ve had no problems with them. They are dearer now than when I bought them.

They are not implying OE, they are saying they are! "YOU WILL BE BUYING TWO O.E. ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT QUALITY WISHBONES"

lemforders are £110 from autovaux according to oof legend, although i've never rung them for a price but lets assume thats the correct.

Then there's these ebay type items with no makers i.d. or any sign of origin. £50 a pair lets say.

They may be fine,(although i think the odds are against it tbh) and you save 60 sobs if you fit diy, great. But what if they fail early?

At best you've got to refit x2 diy(or pay someone to again to do it) then pay for set up again, and possibly wreck a pair of tyres along the way with all sorts of handeling issues possible.

Is it worth the risk?

That's the kiddie... I'm sure that's where mine came from. I've definitely bought something from that seller and the time is about right

Only thing I've found is that one of them (N/S) is showing a lot of surface rust but all the bushes/ball joints are still good 2 Years and some 50k+ later

I need mine changing soon. So a quick Google showed this at Euro Car Parts http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Vauxhall_Omega_2.6_2002/p/Car-Parts/Suspension-and-Steering/Suspension/Suspension-Arms-and-Joints. Not tried ECP, but Lemförder at £84 looks good to me.

I see they've got Bilsteins in stock too - they are the B4 normal rate [not B6 uprated].

Not an item to take risks with IMHO.  There was a problem a few years back with (I think) Vauxhalls going around with wishbones that were falling apart.  Sub-standard pattern-parts got into the official parts stream IIRC.

If you never go above 20mph it might be safe to take chances but there's still the inconvenience, not to mention embarrassment .

from memory it was the mk3 cavalier wishbones that were prone to cracking off near where the balljoint was riveted on,at the time vauxhall blamed independant garages for jacking them on the arms
