Here we go :y

The connector on the left of the picture is the opposite end of the Crank Sensor that you rightly said bolts next to the Oil Filter.
This is the "Oval" type.
When you get the new Crank Sensor follow the guide on how to fit it that should help :y

Having said that all the 2.5's and 3.0's I have changed have been this one :-?
