oil leak
« on: 07 July 2010, 21:43:10 »

hi all, i posted a message saying i think i have a bad oil leak, been told it could be blocked breathers, would that affect the coolant as had to top it up 3 times in 3 mths aswell as topping up oil, i thought it was the head gasket but there is no white silky stuff to be seen and no loss of power i think

no blocked breathers will not affect coolant, you want to make sure those breathers are clean otherwise it will cause the cam cover gaskets to go.

For coolant use, check HBV (heater by-pass valve) rear of the engine, its a common issue for that to leak/fail  :y
