Whoever regassed it should have done both a static pressure test and a dynamic (compressor running) pressure test.

About the only thing I can suggest that you can try .. is with someone inside switching the aircon on then off you watch the compressor clutch to see if it pulls in and the compressor actually turns.

Personally, I'd be taking it back and asking exactly what they did ??  :(

AFAIK these are one and the same thing ???

I'm confused as to what is/is not making noises now .. the ONLY moving part of the air con system is the compressor, bottom right of the engine bay, driven by the aux belt, and has an electromagnetic clutch on the front to engage/disengage

Then it's me who's is wrong!I roughy the compressed was mounted on the radiater?!it is the one one the belt making the noise so should I replace or is it fixable?sounds like the clutch is moving but then not working.

Sounds like the compressor is making noises ... could be the clutch or the actual compressor. Really needs someone who knows to look at it

Deary me m8,
You must have had it done by set of cowboys cos it sounds like they did no tests at all, either before or after the regas.
Best thing to do is to take it back to them and ask exactly what they did - then stand over them while they do the job and take note of what they do. If they are reputable they will not mind at all. If the compressor is knocking (not good news) it is not a repair job - its a replacement and its expensive!
Mine goes in next week for the compessor change and a full aircon service which is costing me £200.00 because I am supplying the compressor. That is under half of everyone else I have tried. CoolRunnings are local to me and brilliant at their job! Hope you find someone as good.
