prop shaft centre bearing advice
« on: 16 July 2010, 13:40:38 »

Ive got a problem with my 2.2 manual sometimes juddering when pulling away (hopefully its not the clutch as ive had it replaced recently i had this problem before it was done)
i think its caused by the prop shaft seal split making the bearing dry.

if it is the centre prop shaft bearing would i just need to replace the seal and gaiter and regrease using a grease gun?
its been like this for a while now and now i have a new clutch and i dont want to put extra wear on it!

any help would be great

To replace the bearing you need to take the prop and bearing fixings off. these have to be pressed off and on.
have you tryed moving the bearing/prop by hand, just grab prop and give it a good wiggle you should see any wear  :y
