TD auto box woes!
« on: 20 July 2010, 19:46:49 »

Well the auto box on my 96 td has spat its dummy. Ever since i bought the car its taken about 5 seconds from selecting reverse to actually engaging. Then i used the car for work and it struggled under load at around 50 mph and started to change up and down the box as if it didnt know what to do. Finally it has spewed its oil onto the floor from what looks like a porous inspection cover on the bottom of the box. I believe it is the original ar25 box as the car has only done 82k. My question is, based on the above, what is the cheapest option for repair, v6 box conversion or try and source a bottom cover from vauxhall and re-fill the box.
