ABS ECU compatibility questions
« on: 29 August 2010, 17:12:19 »

Mine has gone again. Last time I fitted a secondhand one (2 or 3 years ago) supplied by a member (Martin P). At the time I didn't make a note of the number , just stuck it on as it was off a "similar"car. Everything worked fine thereafter including cruise without the need to be tech 2'd. ( I can't imagine how I would get Tech2 here in Spain.)

The original unit off the car is Bosch 0 273 004 205.  What other (if any) ABS ECU's could I fit  without the need to Tech2.?

Also what donor model do I need to be looking for?
Will a 2.5 V6 auto be right or does it have to have had cruise?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Ideally same year and spec as yours mate - same g/box as yours (ie auto or manual etc)
When I did mine looked for same part nº and same spec motor - also got one off OOf member which worked ok without Tech2 first time.

Part Nº is helpfully positioned underneath the abs ecu  :-/

I may be corrected, but I believe it has to be;

Same year (ish)
Same Engine
Same Transmission Type
Same Body Style (Saloon/Estate)

So as I changed my auto box for a manual out of an early car should this make a difference to my abs?
