car limping home...
« on: 13 September 2010, 11:38:33 »

ok so while happily driving along suddenly with a bang my car went into that limp mode with that orange car light on,
Went home slowly slowly and checked the code and found to be this :
P1700 : service vehicle soon request from transmission control module

What does that mean ??
Ive changed the gear oil and gear filter but still no difference, car still changes gear hard and skips too, then it goes into limp mode like today

With this being my only car and with my university being about 50 miles from my house,
I seriously need help !!
:(

I don't know much about autos but it sounds like something is broken in the gearbox. see if anyone nearby can tech2 it.
