Thirsty MV6.
« on: 25 September 2010, 09:09:05 »

My omega is drinking for england...
The engine mangement light is on and the
fault codes are the left and right banks fuel trim.
But the car idles perfect, little bit erratic on acceleration - its either cruise or rip you are face off modes.
But it is using a hell of alot of fuel. Can't see any obvious problems under the hood.

Anyone have any ideas where to start looking...

thanks.

The fuel trims are the clue. You need to resolve that.

Doesn't always come up with a code if its the MAF sensor, best bet is to replace with a known good one and see if that cures it. (As new ones can be expensive)

Although not sure that the problem will be the MAF could be wrong like :-/ :-/
