Mini-facelift headlight reflectors loose in unit
« on: 19 March 2010, 12:41:38 »

Hi All

It's been a while since I've posted, but the old girl has been going great recently, and sailed through the MOT the other week!
I noticed the other day when I went to change a headlight bulb that the reflector in each unit is flapping around loose! Is this a common issue on Omega's??
Do I have to buy 2 new units, or can I remove the lens if I carefully heat the retaining lugs up, or will I suffer with misting unless I reseal it with silicone afterwards?
If anyone has a solution, I would be grateful to hear from them!

Thanks Chaps! :)

It is a common problem and we have a chap working on a design for a replacement adjuster arm that should allow them to be repaired. See if you can soldier on with it for a couple of weeks and there should be some news. :y

Hi Kevin

Thanks for the reply, glad Im not alone in this problem!
I've survived the winter, so another couple of months won't hurt. I must admit, the output from the lights are awful, and thats despite changing the bulbs to uprated ones and cleaning the lenses up!
