temp gauge sender location and ecu light, 2.0 16v
« on: 28 September 2010, 22:35:46 »

After a friend that owed me a favour put back together my other other omega estate (2.0 16v) after its new headgasket, it runs up ok but wont register temp on the dash or cut the fan in. I have replaced the bit one that goes in the rad. Id there another somewhere? Also, how can I rid/work out the engine managment light? The paperclip trick?

Many thanks as always!  :y

You sir, are a hero! I gather thats why the fan wont come on? I will have a fumble around the back of the engine when I next get a chance, thanks :)

If the dashboard gauge sender is unconnected, you'll get nothing from the temperature gauge, but I think that has absolutely nothing to do with the radiator fan.

Paperclip test will tell you why the EML is on, possibly the other (ECU) temp sender also not connected?  I don't think that one has any control over the rad fan either BTW, but I could be wrong.

hi
was having probs with my cooling fans not coming on i changed sensor in rad, no change, changed sensor rear of head by dis pack, no change was doing my head in after a bit i happend to notice a tiny bit of corrosion visible on the plug that goes into rad sensor i took black cap off wire end of plug slide off grey end of plug you'll now see 2 mini spade connectors with tiny black clips holding them in place ease clip ,remove connectors note cable colours and position clean and put back together. well thats what i did and now works a treat hope this makes sense to you  :y :y :y
