Torque setting, drop links and wishbone ball joint
« on: 01 October 2010, 10:37:28 »

V6 torque values in maintanance shows steering knuckle to ball joint 100    And.  3.   Under notes

Is this the correct setting I want for the wishbone ball joint clamp bolt? What does 3 mean? I know there are only 2 bolts one each side.

Or am I looking at the wrong thing?

Plus, anyone know the correct torque setting for drop link nuts.

Yes, holds the ball joint on the outboard end of the wishbone.
Or at least that's the torque setting I want.

Lower balljoint to knuckle is 100nm/74lbs ft.
Anti-rollbar link rod to strut 65nm/48lbs ft.
Doubt if you would get a torque wrench on top nut tho. :y

From TIS:

Attach guide joint to steering knuckle – insert fastening bolts from front towards rear – tightening torque 100 Nm / 74 lbf. ft

Quite easily. Left side on full left lock with only the top connected. Right side on full right lock again with only the top connected. My 120nm fits nicely then.
