TD RUNNING TEMP
« on: 27 October 2010, 21:23:21 »

Until recently, our 2.5TD always ran at around the 88 - 90 mark on the gauge, which I thought was a bit cool.

Got it Tech2'd at Newent by H21 and TB; and we all came to the conclusion that a thermostat change would be in order.

Have now fitted a genuine Vx 'stat, plus 5 litres of Vx red antifreeze.
Also had a thorough flush at the same time.

It now runs at around 95 on the gauge - just above mid-point, and rises slightly above this when 'given the beans'.

Is this normal on a TD - personally, I feel it's now a touch on the high side.
Anyone?

PS: Viscous fan IS fitted.

exact same thing happened on mine when i changed w,pump and stat and flush, before it always registered around 85ish, after it reads 92 rising to 95 up very long steep mountain roads,
been like it 3 years now, so stopped worrying!! :y

Same happened after my flush/clean and fluid replacement. Runs at 95 unless pushed, when it reaches 100. :y
