Cooling system
« on: 06 November 2010, 18:21:17 »

Hi all Sticky here had a coolant level light up on the dash of my 2.5 V6CDX it looks to me as if it's the float sticking in the edder bottle so I  pulled off  the wires and shorted them out and it went out so it can only be the float  yes ????????
If so someone suggested flushing bottle out with engine degreaser to release the float then refit and top up
Any more suggestions of the possible cause  or a more efficient wayof  flushing out edder bottle . Thanks

Can try pushing down on the float see if it releases. If not, only about £30 from VX and you have a nice new shiny header tank :y

I removed my header tank and left some caustic in there for a few hours. It did help to a degree, but a new header tank is around £35 and looks a lot nicer!  :y  :y

edit: bugger, toooo slow!  ;D
