Would anyone have a coolant system layout diagram or know where i would find one for a 2.0?

Here's one I 'drew' earlier this year.  Please forgive my dismal artistry. 

Note that all the pipes shown are external to the engine, the waterpump pushes coolant up through the block, then head, then out of the thermostat flange on N/S, a flange opposite it on the O/S and out of the 'lump' on the back of the head towards the HBV (if fitted) and on to the heater matrix.  Can't give you an exact layout for the HBV hoses, as ours doesn't have one. There are two heated bits on the throttle body, linked up by little hoses in series.

 You may need to blow up the image to make out my scrawls.



Hopefully someone may have a better diagram!

I suppose, and hope someone will confirm, that if you do have an HBV, there's one hose coming off the back of the head 'into' the HBV, then one coming out to where I've scrawled "matrix in", then another teeing into the hose labelled "matrix out".

Ok Marc, having been back over that thread it appears your leak is on the return flow pipe from the rear of the engine head to the bottom of the radiator? That being the case, if it is the hose or connector towards the back of the engine, your best bet to gain access there is to remove the Inlet Manifold & this will give you room to work & actually see what you are doing. It could be something as simple as a loose pipe clamp but probably more likely to be a worn hose, especially if the original clamp has been replaced at some time by a jubilee worm drive clamp. :-/

im hoping it is just a worn hose or loose clip, but with my luck it would be something worse.  What do you mean inlet manifold? im thinking throttle body, im prob wrong though, im hoping to try and get this sorted before work tomorrow fingers crossed as its betting a bit boring now worrying if i have enough water and constantly watching the temp guage, i dont know if it makes any difference but when i slow down or stop the temp guage either goes down to 80 or up to 90 and then does the alternative when moving again then quickly settles back to 85
