Nothing is ever as straight forward as it should be is it?
Currently trying to do my cam-cover gaskets / cam-belt, which requires removal of the inlet trumpets. (pictured below)

So, six bolts off, give it a little tap with a rubber hammer, as it should just pull straight off right?
However, on mine it seems like the casting at the base of the inlet trumpets, (where it bolts into the block), is just a little too wide to enable me to pull it up from between the 'V's of the cylinder heads :-?
I've tried twisting it, pulling it, sliding it, asking it nicely, even begging it, but the dam thing still won't lift out.
Now, I'm 99% certain that there is nothing connected, screwed in, or bolted down that I have forgotten, as the trumpets will lift easily by a couple of cm, and using a torch I can see where the casting of the trumpets is catching the heads. Surely the only way to get the bloody thing removed can't be by removing the cylinder heads?

I don't want to go using a file on the casting for fear of getting any rubbish in my combustion chambers, plus I have so far been reluctant to give it a really big pull incase I damage something on the fuel rail.
So, any suggestions please fellas?
In advance, many thanks
