GLOVE COMPARTMENT

Nearside passenger glove compartment jammed shut will not open with key any ideas how to release it ?

Try pushing the glovebox lid upwards at the same time as you use the release catch. :-/

I bought a lid from scrapyard ( wrong lid as it happens) to look a how it worked and hopefully swop bits to fix. The handle part does come out which allows you open, strip and fit a new release mechanism if it is the same piece that was on mine. I broke the scrapyard handle but got mine off ok. I think the new piece was under £20 at dealers. If it is the later lid i might still have the bit you need.

You shouldn't need the key to actually open the glove box, only to lock/unlock it.  :y
