Bonnet Release Mounting
« on: 29 January 2011, 12:20:14 »

Could anyone please explain how to reattach the bonnet release handle to its mounting point, as im having some trouble. Currently the handle is on the floor by the drivers seat, not ideal, with cable attached.

To make it easier for myself i tried to remove the plastic trim that partly obscures it, but im having trouble getting that off, as i cant get at the screw that is underneath the trim piece that runs along the bottom of the car. On that piece, i removed the screw just behind the drivers seat, and removed the B pillar trim piece but i cant figure out how that piece comes out, as all the tugging in the world doesnt appear to budge it! So any advice on those would be helpful.

Worked a treat, thanks :)

As a side note, where should the release cable root around the engine bay? At the moment my cable runs directly across the top of the inlet manifold, past the back of the battery (between that and the fuse box) and down to that nut at the front. Is this where its meant to go?

Clipped along under scuttle, cable-tied by PAS reservoir to the loom exiting fuse box then clipped between wing & fuse box
