Leaking scuttle again!
« on: 06 February 2011, 22:59:11 »

Having sealed the scuttle, or so I thought, there was rain pouring off the underneath of it when I looked last night. The 'torrent' was just to the left of the joint between the left and right hand parts of the scuttle. Strangely enough this is just above the coil pack - oh joy! >:(

Any idea where the most likely place is for the water to get in? I am suspicious that it is getting in through the ventilation grid and instead of draining down past the pollen filter it is going left to the bottom part of the scuttle joint.

I am going to strip it out again on Wednesday and have another go at sealing it.  :(

have you tested it with watering can, may help you find the fault easyer could be the seal on the plastic grill and water run down the screen and in, would get a lot of water in that way with the wipers going.

Is the seal scuttlel to windscreen secure? Grab the scuttle and jiggle it, does the seal move around?

Would think a hose pipe would be more useful, ESP if it's ALREADY RAINING!
