urgent help!

just changed steering idler arm, came off no problems but when istarted fitting the new one i couldn't do up the nut to the inner tie rod  it just keeps spinning the bolt aswell as the nut. will it be safe to drive as its done up a bit?

No.

Put a jack under the balljoint and pump up jack JUST enough that its under load, then you will find nut will tighten :y
