Need to read codes - look up pedal trick on here. Wouldn't mind betting your get either P0420 or P0430 or both.

If you get those codes, it will be failing pre-cats. Nothing to worry about, plenty of information on here.

I assume you mean what does the EML Light mean? They let you know there is a problem. As too what the problem is you need to do the Pedal Trick or plug a Tech2 or Code Reader in ..

Not sure about the V6 lump, but when mine came on on my 2ltr it was because the Cam Sensor had packed up. Best to get it checked with fault codes though. On a straight 4 lump it was very straight forward to change.

Why oh why was there never a V8 Omega????
Such a missed oppurtunity.
Look forward to the Cadillac ATS & ATS-V. Maybe a re-badged one will replace the Miggy as a RWD runner?

There are masses of reasons that the EML will come on - basically anything that is controlled or sensed by the ECU.

The ECU will check many many functions when you start the engine, and any one of those could bring the light on.

So, to avoid any doubt you NEED to do the pedal trick or get the codes read properly.
