does anyone know if monroe LA361 shocks are compatible with the elite set up,my local factor lists them for the estate at £115 per pair complete with air connectors but I am not sure if they can be connected to the existing pipework or wether they are designed to be pumped up with a footpump via schrader type valve.My elite has been garaged over the winter and I have just noticed that the n/s shock is leaking oil

Just googled them before answering, just in case, and they are as I thought... An aftermarket air shock. Afraid it's Vx only AFAIK if you want to keep the self levelling

As he says! The VX shocks aren't cheap either, better with a trade card or try Andyc.

thanks for the replies chaps,I was hoping the the elites self levelling set up  might work with them but possibly different pressures are needed

Bought a pair of Vx self levellers for my estate this morning and they came to £177.55 inc VAT on trade card from the local stealers

In my pre TC days I got some Monroe shocks fitted to my elite saloon. There's a regulator and hose in the pack that allows you to inflate or deflate via compressor or pump, you can also use with existing s/l set up, as I have done. All fixings were included. I'll try and see if I can find the part number. I thought the shocks were different between estate and salooon but not sure.

thanks geoff,that helps a lot,saloon and estate are different but the number I listed in my first post are the estate parts,I have got my factor talking to monroe technical as we speak so will post their verdict

monroe tech department are sitting on the fence,they won't condone or condemn there products use with the existing set up

Indeed... So, just to confirm geoff, you just replaced the shocks and plugged the manufacturers air lines on so that the standard fitted sensors and compressor run as they did with Vx Shocks?
