2.0 engine prob help needed

Driving today all fine then got to a hill engine lost power and sounded rough like a valve knocking also engine struggling to tick over and wobbling. switched off and restarted still the same when i rev it still knocking sound. eml did not come on. rac man thinks it may have dropped a valve or something. cam belt is fine and still lined up as i thought it slipped a tooth. thoughts please.  :)

I think I would have a look at the cams make sure the shells(shimps) are fine and that the trox bolts holding down the cams are fine, if they are  fine drop all the oil out and have a look at it somtimes can find more metal in the oil than normal.. and the filter. may find whats wrong but when mine did it it was a worn set of shims and a blocked oil line in head.

forgot to add that i had the cam cover off could not see any thing wrong but i may take the head off any way to have a look and also the oil was coming through fine thanks. :)

have you tryed taking the plugs out and turning the engine by hand listening for weird sounds?

yes tried that this morning. sounds like its only running on 3 cylinders but as i rev it sounds like metal hitting metal :(
going to try comp test soon

if its coming from No:4 piston. would think the tensioner had gone week., and its bent the inlet valve. check that the locating pin in the cam sprocket is in the right place as can be mis-leading by just looking at it the trox bolt could of come lose at sompoint.. do a full cam rest should only take a couple of hrs and check every thing but if it is number 4 piston would think it would be that.
