The use of Finilec or similar?
« on: 10 June 2011, 10:53:00 »

I've got a tyre that needs replacing (it's close to the limit) that also has a slow puncture (needs pumping up every few days).

I'm going to replace the tyre when I get paid in a couple of weeks time but am considering squirting a can of Finilec in just to see me through. It's irritating having to keep pumping the bloody thing up!

Couple of questions:
1) Does a tyre full of Finilec piss off the tyre bay fitters when fitting a new tyre?
2) Has anyone ever successfully used Finilec (or is it a waste of time/money)?
3) Does having a tyre full of Finilec impose any performance/usage restrictions (max speed, for instance)?
4) Is it likely to actually make matters worse (ie am I better off just keep topping the air up for a little longer)?

Any other comments on the use of Finilec that I haven't thought of? :)

Cheers guys,
Gaz

For the sake of a couple of weeks I'd just keep topping it up ;)
