Although cam sensor failure is rare on the V6 Omega, a P0340 shouldn't be ignored :y

A bit concerned here as I am yet to EVER see a cam sensor failure on a V6.

Were the wires damaged in any way?

Is the cambelt setup and timing all ok?

Never had a problem with motor since I bought it ie engine wise,Had the cam belts changed by welung666 xmas when I was in uk no probs, never missed a beat then late April classic symptoms started and over a period of a week came to a complete stop.had the c/shaft sensor changed ran for 2 weeks and then started getting difficult starting, cutting out when slowing down, missing and engine light permanently on
changed the c/shaft sensor thinking the garage had used a pattern part,no joy,but when I read the codes myself(pedal trick) got 0340 ordered cam sensor fitted it and I am now back to normal car running as sweet as a nut.
Original cam sensor has no breaks or twists etc but does feel quite hard ,will check it out to see if resistance is correct
