td auto sluggish
« on: 01 July 2011, 12:24:17 »

Hi I have a td auto which is very slow, if i put the pedel down it takes for ever for the car to rev up and change gears. to me the gearbox seems fine but the car is so slow at moving/reving. when the car is in neural the engine revs up with no problems. it was put on computer/op com and no fault in gearbox or engine came up. anyone any ideas? is it engine/gearbox or torque convertor problem?

ok, I just took the gearbox out of this car and the torque convertor is very very hot, I can hardly put my hand on it, would I be right in thinking it is buggered? because it is so hot, the car hasn't been driven in over an hour.
