Get someone to gently assist it when it's going up.  If that works, do it a few times.  Mechanism might be a little sticky.

I dont know how the limit switches work on these, although I do have one in the garage which I should strip down and have a look at.  I dont even know if the motor is connected to the mechanism via belt or gears (cogs).

The clicking is more than likely the motor still running after the blind has reached it's bottom position.

I'll endeavor to strip the mech down over the weekend.  I'm sure someone on here (don't recall who) has already got great knowledge of the internal workings and hopefully will be able to give you a definitive answer soon.

The complete shelf is not horribly expensive from the breakers on here, and not a difficult thing to replace, so dont get upset if you find yours is not fixable.  :y

I'd say carry on.... it's either going to fix it, or break it, so technically, you have nothing to lose!  Either way, you will need to source a replacement or completely strip it down and realign gears.

As mentioned above, I dont know the inner workings, but it sounds like it doesnt know where the 'bottom' is.  Working it several times and allowing it to slip may let it find it's feet.   :y

This might be worth a look at.
This happened to me and it turned out to be that a bit of crap had somehow got pulled down when the blind was used after a hot sunny day. It turned out to be a sticky sweet and gently lifting the blind while the button was pressed eventually got it to raise fully again. The sticky sweet bit was claened with a small portable stean cleaner and it was back to normal after that.

Sounds like the down limiting microswitch has packed up and the mechanism is continuing to operate after it should have been stopped by it cutting off the current.
If it goes up without problems it points to the microswitches being the culprits.
There was a bit published about how to remove and refit the rear blind in the maintenance section I think so maybe a look there will assist you.Microswitches can be bought fro virtually any radio shop such as Maplins, or even online if you get the numbers off them.
