key query

by swapping the key blade & the chip from my key & putting it into another key which is not for my mig. would it function ok. my circuit board is kaput. :-/

its been re-soldered that many times , there is nothing to solder to on the battery terminal side.

Sounds like it was bodged, they should have made a pin to do it
