urgent help or advice for a newby poster please

brought the omega down from ayrshire to withernsea on holiday got to camp site now the immobiliser light is flashing and the bugger wont start anybody now of a nearby garage that could disable the immobiliser or repair it or anybody close to withernsea have any ideas need to get it going for trip home friday any advice appreciated

Have you opened the key up after arriving there?

The flashing light is indeed the immobiliser and will require a good scan tool to sort.

Disabling it is not an option though (as I cant think of any easy way to do it).

Have you tried the spare key?

Disconnect the battery for a bit, connect up, get in the car, put the key in the ignition and turn to position too (I think) press the lock button, should lock then unlock again and bring it back in sync (maybe worth a go 1st without disconnecting the battery) try with both keys if one doesnt work.

If that fails it will need plugging in I think, but worth a go  :y

Only re-syncs the remote sadly, nothing to do with the immobiliser.

Whip the steering wheel cowling off (3 screws under, 1 either side of wheel under caps 9 o/c & 3 o/c) check the plug is securely attached to the black transponder ring around the ign barrell

thanks all i disconnected battery for an hour or so and its started now tho runs like a bag of spanners hopefully it will get me home

you could try doing  a pedal trick ..... http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1189022687 and see if there are any stored fault codes.  :-/

Battery disconnection will reset all learned values, so it might be a bit lumpy for 2 or  3 miles
