Tyres again - anyone used/heard of infinity ?
« on: 07 August 2011, 14:19:42 »

I need a pair of rear tyres, currently have conti SC3's which are excellent but they are down to legal minimum. I am planning to sell the miggy in about 4-6 weeks so timing is crap but they have to be replaced.

I dont want to fork out for top of the line tyres just to sell it on in a few weeks so are there any good budget brands ? I see infinity tyres on camskill look like a decent tread pattern for £53 each, good compromise ? Or should I just go for the cheapest crap and drive a bit more carefully for the next 2 months ?

I have recently put two rear tyres on mine. Called Sunfull got them from eBay for £91 for two delivered. I am running 225/55 r16 and I have no complaints. Done about 1k miles so far on twisties, motorways and in rain as well and they are fine. Not too noisey and not lost grip yet, but don't drive too hard.

Hope that helps

personally I would never buy second hand tyres, its the only thing connecting you to the road at 80mph, even with an underpowered 2.2, I'd only buy brand new tyres.

Last time it was £75 corner for middle of the road Falkins

lots of previous tyres debate on here with all sorts of opinions.

But for a budget tyre Acellera Alpha's come recommended from me.

Other Oof members have also commented favourably.

I have found them to be pretty good all round.

Around the 55 - 60 quid mark fitted down here in  Southend.  :y

Yep, I use them. But they are a compromise for me... I would ideally go for a better, branded tyre but refuse to have to replace them more than once a year ::)

My mileage, however, could well be reducing dramatically so I can justify something a bit more "playful" :y :y

Having said that, the Alpha's are by far the best "cheap" tyre I've ever used ;) ;)
