I asked this already under subject "oil cooler re-sealing" but it's not really related to that so I started a new topic (admins please delete if you feel so)

So, after assembly car started and spanner light is on, code 0120 which is throttle position sensor. Idle is 50-100 rpm too high and when starting the revs go up for a second, this did never happen before. Connectors checked, double checked and triple checked, sprayed with contact cleaner etc without success. Even the one in the rear of plenum. So, where to go next? Does the spanner light go off with some 20 fresh starts? If so, what causes the revs going up on start?

have you checked the throttle sensor off,, take off and spray some switch cleaner in it (hole) then shake the sensor for bit then move the switch by hand a few times then leave for wile to dry. see if that helps.

Thanks, will try that. I just wonder why it would fail now, no work was done on that, only had the connector off for a few days when the plenum was off... Well, I'll report the result.

Well, spanner light is off. Cleaning did not help, then I started to go through the wiring and cleaned almost every possible connector related to codes 0120 and 0220 which I also had. So it was dirty/moist/poor connection somewhere.

well its good you got it fixed, get your self some connector grease, use it in new cars put bit in all wires with plugs, stop moisture getting to the copper pins, can get it and most electrical shops.... should stop bad connections later on. :y
